The Cylindrical eye power is about the amount of lens power for astigmatism where it shows the weakest and greatest power of the eye. The power of eyes having a cylindrical column with minus signs indicates nearsighted astigmatism and plus sign indicates farsighted astigmatism. You can say cylindrical power is about the shape of the eye. Contact lenses are also called toric lenses that are used for the treatment of astigmatism. Ophthalmologists are recommended contact lenses for low-grade astigmatism. Other options are gas permeable and hybrid contact lenses.

Surgery of the eyes is not recommended for children having below 18 years of age.
