Treatment of Myopia in Old Age
A 65 years old female with high myopes (Minus numbers of spectacles) with left eye to be a lazy eye (Non-working eye) was operated for cataract surgery in her right eye. Her vision started decreasing after one month of the surgery. During the examination, it was found that she had macular edema (water collection in the retina). The patient got very tense as it was her only operational eye, to tackle the situation a steroid injection along with drops and antioxidant tablets were given to her. Within 2 months of regular follow-up, her vision returned to 100%.
