Retinal Vessel Occlusion In The Eye

One of the most common causes affecting the retina of decreased vision after diabetic retinopathy is retinal artery/vein blockage.

Just as the vessel blockage in the heart causes a heart attack and in the brain, it causes paralytic stroke, Retinal vessel occlusion in the eye causes macular edema and haemorrhages in the retina (eye) which causes decreased vision.

There are mainly 2 types of ARMD

    (1) Dry ARMD
In Dry ARMD, the cells of the macula are damaged which starts distorting the vision.

    (2) Wet ARMD
In Wet ARMD, Blood vessels grow under the retina and leak fluid in your retina. This causes blind spots and distorted vision.
